Description

A delicious and comforting dish featuring seasoned ground beef patties and rich gravy, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Ground beef (80/20 blend for best flavor)
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs (Plain or seasoned)
  • 1 Egg (Beaten)
  • 1 Onion (Finely diced)
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 3 tbsp Butter (Salted or unsalted)
  • 3 tbsp All-purpose flour (For thickening gravy)
  • 2 cups Beef broth (Low sodium preferred)
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 Onion (Sliced)
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, gently mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, diced onion, salt, and pepper.
  2. Form the mixture into 6–8 oval-shaped patties. Let them rest while you prepare the gravy base.
  3. In an oven-safe skillet, brown the patties for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté the sliced onions in butter. Then add flour, stir it for 2 minutes, and whisk in the beef broth and heavy cream.
  5. Nestle the browned patties into the gravy mixture. Cover tightly and bake at 350°F for 45 minutes. After that, uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  6. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve hot with mashed potatoes or rice. Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
