Description
Warm and gooey apple treats wrapped in biscuit dough, perfect for quick desserts and cozy gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (8-count)
- 1 medium apple, peeled and diced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work best)
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 8 soft caramel candies
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon milk (for egg wash)
- Optional: coarse sugar for topping
Instructions
- Prepare the Apple Filling: In a small skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add diced apples, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Cook for 3–4 minutes until apples soften and the sugar turns syrupy. Remove from heat and let cool.
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Flatten the Biscuit Dough: Open the biscuit dough and separate into 8 rounds. On a lightly floured surface, flatten each biscuit into a 4-inch circle using your fingers or a rolling pin.
- Assemble the Bombs: Place a spoonful of apple mixture in the center of each dough round. Add one caramel candy on top. Fold the edges up and pinch to seal tightly, forming a ball. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Add Egg Wash & Topping: In a small bowl, whisk the egg with milk. Brush each dough ball with the egg wash. Sprinkle with coarse sugar if desired.
- Bake to Perfection: Bake for 13–15 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed. Let them cool for 5–10 minutes before serving—caramel inside will be hot!
Notes
Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce. Keep in an airtight container for up to 2 days or refrigerate for longer.
