- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1/4 cup sugar (for filling)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the sour cream, softened butter, sugar, and salt.
- In another bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add the yeast mixture to the sour cream mixture and stir.
- Gradually add flour until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth, then place it in a greased bowl and cover. Let it rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll the dough out into a rectangle.
- In a bowl, mix chopped walnuts and sugar for the filling, then spread it evenly on the rolled dough.
- Roll the dough tightly and place it seam side down on a baking sheet.
- Brush with egg wash and cut slits on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool before slicing.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days, or refrigerate for a week. Can be frozen for longer storage.
