Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb beef (tender cut)
- 3–4 cups broccoli florets
- 1 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- Oil (for cooking meat)
- 1/4 cup oyster sauce
- 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Slice the beef against the grain into thin strips. Place it into a bowl and add the soy sauce, cornstarch, black pepper, and baking soda. Mix everything well and set aside to marinate.
- In another bowl, mix the sauce ingredients and set aside.
- Heat 1-2 tablespoons of oil in a pan over medium-high heat, then add the marinated beef. Cook for a couple of minutes on each side until browned and remove from the pan.
- In a pot of boiling water, add the broccoli and boil for exactly 2 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Add a little more oil to the pan and reduce the heat to medium. Add the minced garlic and cook until slightly browned.
- Pour in the prepared sauce and stir until it thickens.
- Add the broccoli and beef back into the pan, stirring until everything is fully coated. Serve over white rice or noodles!
Notes
For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes or chili sauce. Substitute beef with tofu for a vegetarian version.
