Description
A quick and delicious meal combining tender beef with crisp broccoli in a savory sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound beef (sirloin or flank steak), thinly sliced
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the beef with cornstarch and a pinch of salt and pepper. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the beef and stir-fry until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add more oil if needed and add the garlic and ginger. Stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the broccoli and stir-fry for about 2 minutes.
- In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and beef broth. Pour this sauce into the pan with broccoli.
- Return the beef to the pan and stir everything together, cooking for another 2-3 minutes until the broccoli is tender and the sauce thickens.
- Serve hot over cooked rice.
Notes
Slice the beef against the grain to keep it tender. Make sure not to overcook the broccoli; it should stay bright green and slightly crunchy.
