Description

A quick and delicious meal combining tender beef with crisp broccoli in a savory sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef (sirloin or flank steak), thinly sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the beef with cornstarch and a pinch of salt and pepper. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the beef and stir-fry until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add more oil if needed and add the garlic and ginger. Stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the broccoli and stir-fry for about 2 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and beef broth. Pour this sauce into the pan with broccoli.
  6. Return the beef to the pan and stir everything together, cooking for another 2-3 minutes until the broccoli is tender and the sauce thickens.
  7. Serve hot over cooked rice.

Notes

Slice the beef against the grain to keep it tender. Make sure not to overcook the broccoli; it should stay bright green and slightly crunchy.
