Description
A savory, homemade beef breakfast sausage seasoned with sage, garlic, and herbs. Perfect for meal prep, freezer meals, or weekend brunch.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (85/15)
1 tsp kosher salt
1 tsp dried sage
½ tsp ground black pepper
½ tsp thyme
½ tsp smoked paprika
¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes
½ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp onion powder
½ tsp brown sugar
Optional: pinch of nutmeg
Instructions
1. In a bowl, mix all spices into ground beef until well combined.
2. Chill mixture for 30 minutes to let flavors meld.
3. Shape into small patties (about 2-inch wide).
4. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook patties 3–4 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.
5. Let rest on paper towels before serving or storing.
Notes
Freeze raw patties on a tray before storing.
Cooked sausage keeps in fridge for 5 days.
Great in breakfast bowls, burritos, or sandwiches.
