Description

Deliciously chewy cookies made with brown sugar, perfect for sharing or enjoying with a glass of milk.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set this mixture aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture. Mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  6. Scoop the dough and roll it into balls. Then, roll the balls in the granulated sugar.
  7. Place the dough balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each cookie.
  8. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers still look soft.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Can freeze for longer storage.
