- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup packed brown sugar (light or dark)
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for rolling)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set this mixture aside.
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture. Mix until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- Scoop the dough and roll it into balls. Then, roll the balls in the granulated sugar.
- Place the dough balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers still look soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Can freeze for longer storage.
