Description
A soft loaf with a thick apple and cinnamon sugar center, topped with a sweet glaze. Perfect for breakfast or as a dessert.

- 1–1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1–1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (1 stick)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar (packed)
- 1–1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 large apple (peeled, cored, and chopped into small pieces)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3/4 cups confectioners’ sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a loaf pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Beat the butter, sugar, and vanilla together until smooth.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
- Alternately add flour mixture and milk until fully combined.
- Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and apple in a separate bowl.
- Pour half the batter into the pan, layer with half the apple mixture, and swirl lightly.
- Add the remaining batter and top with the remaining apple mixture, swirling again.
- Sprinkle cinnamon sugar mixture on top.
- Bake for 45 to 55 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 15-20 minutes, then drizzle with glaze made from confectioners’ sugar, cinnamon, and water.
Notes
Use firm apples to avoid mushiness. Avoid over-swirl for better layering. Can be stored at room temperature for 2 days or refrigerated for 5 days.
