- 1/4 cup butter (cold and cut into pieces)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- For the Donuts:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg (at room temperature)
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar (packed)
- 2 1/2 tablespoons butter (melted)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a 6-mold donut pan and set aside.
- Mix together sugar, flour, and cinnamon for the crumb topping in a small bowl. Add butter cubes and work them into the mixture until it resembles coarse meal. Freeze to chill.
- Whisk together dry ingredients in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk the wet ingredients.
- Fold the wet mixture into the dry mixture gently until just combined.
- Fill the prepared donut pan with batter using a spoon or piping bag. Sprinkle with crumb topping.
- Bake for about 10-11 minutes until donuts spring back when lightly pressed.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool further.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature, ideally with coffee or tea. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle glaze for extra sweetness.
