Description

A warm and filling soup with a hearty mixture of sausage, potatoes, and creamy goodness, perfect for chilly days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups diced potatoes
  • 1 pound sausage (Italian or your choice)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Crusty bread or side salad for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, add onions and garlic; sauté until translucent.
  3. Add diced potatoes and broth; bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender, about 15 minutes.
  5. Stir in the cooked sausage, cream, and cheese; season with salt and pepper.
  6. Cook until cheese is melted and soup is heated through.
  7. Serve warm with crusty bread or side salad.

Notes

Use a variety of potatoes for added texture and flavor. For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for the heavy cream.
