Description

Delicious cream cheese squares with a yellow cake base, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 2 large eggs (beaten)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 4 cups confectioner’s sugar
  • 1 (8 oz) box cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the yellow cake mix, beaten eggs, and softened butter until smooth.
  3. Butter a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  4. Press the cake mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  5. In another bowl, blend the confectioner’s sugar, softened cream cheese, and vanilla extract until creamy and smooth.
  6. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cake base.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes, until the top is set and slightly golden.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
  9. Once cooled, cut the dessert into squares.
  10. Serve as-is or with a dusting of confectioner’s sugar.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Can be frozen for longer storage.
