Description
Tender beef slow-cooked to perfection, served in hoagie rolls with optional provolone cheese and au jus for dipping.
Ingredients

- 2 lbs beef chuck roast
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 6 hoagie rolls
- Sliced provolone cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Place the beef chuck roast in the crockpot.
- Add sliced onion, minced garlic, beef broth, water, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-5 hours until the meat is tender.
- Remove the roast and shred the beef with two forks.
- Toast the hoagie rolls if desired.
- Pile the shredded beef onto the rolls and top with provolone cheese.
- Serve with a small bowl of au jus for dipping.
Notes
Trim excess fat from the roast for less grease. Add a bay leaf or a splash of red wine for extra flavor. Store leftovers in airtight containers for up to 4 days.
