Scale
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • 1 ½ tablespoons light corn syrup
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Dash of salt
  • Optional food coloring (gel recommended)
  • Plain cooled sugar cookies

Instructions

  1. Sift the powdered sugar and add a dash of salt in a medium bowl.
  2. Combine milk and light corn syrup in a separate small bowl.
  3. Gradually add the milk mixture to the powdered sugar, mixing until thick but pourable.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract for flavor.
  5. If coloring, divide icing into bowls and add gel food coloring.
  6. Transfer icing to a piping bag for outlining cookies.
  7. Let outlines dry for 15-20 minutes before flooding.
  8. Allow cookies to air dry at room temperature until fully hardened.

Notes
