- 4 tablespoons milk
- 1 ½ tablespoons light corn syrup
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- Dash of salt
- Optional food coloring (gel recommended)
- Plain cooled sugar cookies
Instructions
- Sift the powdered sugar and add a dash of salt in a medium bowl.
- Combine milk and light corn syrup in a separate small bowl.
- Gradually add the milk mixture to the powdered sugar, mixing until thick but pourable.
- Stir in vanilla extract for flavor.
- If coloring, divide icing into bowls and add gel food coloring.
- Transfer icing to a piping bag for outlining cookies.
- Let outlines dry for 15-20 minutes before flooding.
- Allow cookies to air dry at room temperature until fully hardened.

Use gel food coloring to maintain icing consistency. Keep a small bowl of extra powdered sugar or milk for adjustments.
