Description
A soft, sweet loaf with a warm cinnamon swirl that is easy and quick to make. Perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.

- 2 1/2 cups plain flour (all-purpose flour)
- 1 cup white sugar (or brown sugar for richer flavor)
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 1/3 cups sour cream (or Greek yogurt)
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 60g unsalted butter, melted
- 1 1/2 tbsp cinnamon powder
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, white sugar, baking powder, and baking soda.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add vegetable oil, sour cream, vanilla, and melted butter. Mix well.
- Add the wet mixture to the dry mixture and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- In a small bowl, combine cinnamon powder and packed brown sugar for the swirl mix.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan, sprinkle half of the cinnamon mix, then top with the remaining batter and sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon mix. Swirl through the batter gently using a knife.
- Bake for about 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick in the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a rack to cool further.
Notes
For a richer flavor, substitute white sugar with brown sugar. Can add nuts or fruits for variation.
