Description

This fun and quick bubble gum recipe is perfect for kids. It’s easy to make with a few ingredients and creates soft, chewable gum that children will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups gum base
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon flavoring extract (vanilla, strawberry, peppermint, etc.)
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place a heat-safe bowl over a pot of simmering water (double boiler) and add the gum base. Warm until it softens, about 3–5 minutes.
  2. Add 1/2 cup corn syrup to the softened gum base and stir until smooth.
  3. Remove the bowl from heat. Stir in 1 teaspoon of your chosen flavoring and food coloring if desired.
  4. Slowly add 1 cup powdered sugar and stir until the mixture is thick.
  5. Dust a clean surface with powdered sugar and turn the gum mixture onto it. Let it cool slightly.
  6. Knead the gum like dough until smooth, adding more powdered sugar if sticky.
  7. Roll the gum into a log and cut into small pieces. Shape as desired.
  8. Let pieces sit at room temperature for 1 hour to set.

Notes

Store in an airtight container and keep at room temperature. Use within 2 weeks for the best flavor. Dust with powdered sugar to prevent sticking.
