Description

This Easy Sugar Cookie Frosting is quick to make and perfect for spreading or piping on cookies.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 1/23 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp almond extract (optional)
  • 24 Tbsp heavy whipping cream
  • Food coloring, if desired
  • Pinch of salt
  • Raw sugar, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Beat the butter until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes).
  2. Add powdered sugar, 1/2 cup at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Stir in vanilla extract, almond extract, and 2 Tbsp of heavy whipping cream, beating well.
  4. If the frosting seems too thin, add remaining powdered sugar.

  8. Spread or pipe onto cooled cookies, and sprinkle with raw sugar if desired.
  9. Enjoy!
  10. Store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

Notes

Let frosting come to room temperature and re-whip before using if stored.
