Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- ½ cup milk
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 3 ½ to 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
- Extra melted butter, for brushing
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F and grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, warm water, melted butter, milk, and honey to about 110°F.
- Pour the warm liquid into a mixing bowl and sprinkle yeast over it. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add 3 ½ cups of flour and salt to the yeast mixture.
- Mix on medium-low with a dough hook until combined. Add more flour if necessary until the dough pulls away from the bowl.
- Knead for 4-5 minutes until smooth, then shape into a ball in a greased bowl.
- Cover and let rise for 15 minutes.
- Punch down the dough, divide into 15 pieces, and shape into balls. Place in baking dish and let rise for another 15-20 minutes.
- Bake for 15 minutes until lightly golden.
- Brush with melted butter and serve warm.
Notes
Ensure liquids are warm, not hot, to avoid killing the yeast. For a soft texture, cool rolls in the pan covered with a towel.
