Description

Delightful heart-shaped chocolate chip cookies, perfect for celebrations and gifting.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually blend this dry mixture into the creamed mixture.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  6. Roll the dough into balls and use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to form the cookies, or shape the dough into hearts by hand.
  7. Place on ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of sea salt on top before baking. Experiment with different chocolate chips for variety.
