Description

Freshly baked Homemade Ciabatta Bread with a soft and airy texture, perfect for sandwiches or enjoyed with olive oil.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 2 teaspoons salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, yeast, and salt. Gradually add the water, stirring until a wet dough forms.
  2. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rise at room temperature for 12-18 hours until it has doubled in size and has bubbles on the surface.
  3. Generously flour a work surface and gently turn the dough out, being careful not to deflate it too much.
  4. Divide the dough into two equal pieces and shape them into loaves.
  5. Place the loaves on a floured surface, cover them with a kitchen towel, and let rise for 2-3 hours.
  6. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) with a Dutch oven inside.
  7. Carefully transfer the loaves into the hot Dutch oven, cover, and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Let cool before slicing. Enjoy!

Notes

For best results, let the dough rise for the full time suggested and use precise measurements. Store ciabatta at room temperature for up to 2 days, or freeze for longer storage.
