Description

A delightful homemade focaccia bread that is soft, fluffy, and perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary
  • Coarse sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water and yeast, and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add bread flour and salt.
  3. Pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil, and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead for about 5 minutes, then place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for 2 hours.
  5. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  6. After rising, punch down the dough and spread it onto a greased baking sheet.
  7. Dimple the surface with your fingers and drizzle with olive oil, then sprinkle rosemary and coarse salt on top.
  8. Bake for 25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Store in an airtight container for up to two days.
