Description

These maple donut bars are simple and fast, baked in one pan, with a soft cake and sweet maple glaze.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large bowl.
  3. Whisk together milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla in another bowl.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Spread the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow to cool.
  7. Mix maple syrup and powdered sugar in a bowl to create the glaze.
  8. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bars and let it set before cutting into squares.

Notes

Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. For longer storage, refrigerate for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
