Description

Milk Brioche is a rich and buttery bread with a soft, fluffy texture, perfect for breakfast, snacks, or desserts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup whole milk, warmed
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and a teaspoon of sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and eggs, then mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead in the softened butter until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1-2 hours.
  5. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf or rolls. Place in a greased baking pan and let rise again for about 30-60 minutes.
  6. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let cool before slicing.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add a teaspoon of vanilla extract or citrus zest to the dough. Serve with butter or jam, or use for French toast.
