Description

A delightful treat that captures the essence of a classic banana split without the fuss of baking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup butter, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 4 medium bananas, sliced
  • 20 ounces crushed pineapple, drained
  • 16 ounces cool whip
  • 1 jar maraschino cherries
  • ½ cup crushed walnuts
  • ½ cup hot fudge sauce
  • 12 full graham cracker sheets, finely crushed
  • 9 tablespoons butter, melted
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Lightly coat a 9×13 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, 9 tablespoons of melted butter, and ⅓ cup granulated sugar. Mix until the butter coats the crumbs and they stick together when pressed.
  3. Pour the crumb mixture into the baking dish and firmly pack it down to form a crust. Set aside.
  4. In another medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, ¼ cup butter, and powdered sugar. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  5. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the prepared crust.
  6. Layer the sliced bananas on top of the cream cheese mixture, pressing them in slightly.
  7. Spread the drained crushed pineapple over the bananas, followed by the cool whip.
  8. Decorate the top of the dessert with crushed walnuts, maraschino cherries, and drizzle with hot fudge sauce.
  9. Chill in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight before cutting and serving.

Notes

Serve chilled and enjoy with extra hot fudge or whipped cream on the side. For a chocolate twist, use chocolate graham crackers.
