Description
A delightful treat that captures the essence of a classic banana split without the fuss of baking.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup butter, softened
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 4 medium bananas, sliced
- 20 ounces crushed pineapple, drained
- 16 ounces cool whip
- 1 jar maraschino cherries
- ½ cup crushed walnuts
- ½ cup hot fudge sauce
- 12 full graham cracker sheets, finely crushed
- 9 tablespoons butter, melted
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
Instructions
- Lightly coat a 9×13 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
- In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, 9 tablespoons of melted butter, and ⅓ cup granulated sugar. Mix until the butter coats the crumbs and they stick together when pressed.
- Pour the crumb mixture into the baking dish and firmly pack it down to form a crust. Set aside.
- In another medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, ¼ cup butter, and powdered sugar. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the prepared crust.
- Layer the sliced bananas on top of the cream cheese mixture, pressing them in slightly.
- Spread the drained crushed pineapple over the bananas, followed by the cool whip.
- Decorate the top of the dessert with crushed walnuts, maraschino cherries, and drizzle with hot fudge sauce.
- Chill in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight before cutting and serving.
Notes
Serve chilled and enjoy with extra hot fudge or whipped cream on the side. For a chocolate twist, use chocolate graham crackers.
