- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon instant yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and instant yeast.
- Add warm water and stir until a shaggy dough forms.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it sit at room temperature for 12 to 18 hours.
- After fermentation, turn the dough out onto a floured surface and shape it into a ball.
- Place the dough on a floured cloth and cover it. Let it rise for 1-2 hours.
- Preheat a Dutch oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Carefully place the dough into the hot Dutch oven, cover with the lid, and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.
Notes
Serve with butter, soups, stews, or salads. Can be customized with herbs or cheese.
