Description

Crunchy potato sticks filled with rich Gouda cheese, served with a fresh garlic yogurt sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large Potatoes
  • 1 cup Gouda cheese (grated)
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/4 cup Parsley (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup Cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup Olive oil
  • 1/4 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup Cucumber or cucumber water
  • 2 Garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tsp Chili flakes
  • Seasonings (salt, pepper, sugar)

Instructions

  1. Boil and mash the potatoes until smooth.
  2. Combine the mashed potatoes, grated Gouda cheese, eggs, chopped parsley, cornstarch, salt, and pepper in a bowl to form a dough.
  3. Shape the mixture into sticks or logs.
  4. Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  5. Fry the potato sticks until golden brown and crispy on all sides.
  6. Mix mayonnaise with cucumber or cucumber water, minced garlic, chili flakes, and additional seasonings to taste for the garlic yogurt sauce.
  7. Serve the potato cheese sticks warm with the garlic yogurt sauce on the side.

Notes

For extra crispiness, dry the mashed potatoes well before mixing. Chill the shaped sticks for 15–20 minutes if they feel soft before frying.
