Description

Delicious and easy appetizer combining salty prosciutto with creamy mozzarella, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package prosciutto
  • 1 package mozzarella balls (about 12 oz)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  2. Open the package of prosciutto and gently separate the slices, laying them flat on a clean surface.
  3. Take the mozzarella balls out of their packaging and drain any excess liquid.
  4. If the mozzarella balls are large, cut them in half for easier wrapping.
  5. Place one mozzarella ball in the center of each prosciutto slice.
  6. Carefully wrap the prosciutto around the mozzarella ball, ensuring it is fully enclosed.
  7. Continue wrapping all mozzarella balls until wrapped.
  8. Heat the olive oil in a small skillet over medium heat.
  9. Add the dried oregano, garlic powder, and black pepper to the oil. Stir for about 30 seconds until fragrant, then remove from heat.
  10. Brush the seasoned olive oil mixture over each prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella bite.
  11. Arrange the wrapped bites on the baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced apart.
  12. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until the prosciutto is crispy and slightly golden.
  13. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly.
  14. If desired, sprinkle chopped fresh basil on top before serving.

Notes

Best served warm. Pairs well with dipping sauces like balsamic reduction or marinara. Can be marinated prior for extra flavor.
