Ingredients

  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk, warmed
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup raspberry jam

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm milk and yeast. Let stand for 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, and salt in a separate bowl. Create a well in the center and add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread raspberry jam over the surface.
  6. Roll the dough tightly into a log and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  7. Let it rise for another 30-60 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Let cool before slicing. Enjoy toasted with butter or as a sweet snack.

Ensure the milk is warm but not hot to avoid killing the yeast. Knead well for soft texture.
