Description

Delicious heart-shaped brownies topped with sweet strawberry frosting, perfect for celebrations like Valentine’s Day.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon strawberry jam or puree
  • 12 teaspoons milk (as needed)
  • A few drops red or pink food coloring (optional)
  • Sprinkles (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar, stirring until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  3. Stir in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  5. Allow the brownies to cool completely before cutting into heart shapes with a cookie cutter.
  6. In a small bowl, beat softened butter until fluffy. Gradually add powdered sugar until smooth.
  7. Mix in the strawberry jam or puree, adding milk as needed for desired consistency. Add food coloring if desired.
  8. Spread frosting over each brownie and top with sprinkles if using.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. Can be refrigerated for a week or frozen for up to three months.
