- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 package (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix warm milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla.
- Add the liquid mixture to the flour mixture and stir until combined.
- Gradually add the remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place them in a greased baking pan.
- Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve warm.
Notes
For added flavor, brush with melted butter right after baking. Feel free to add cinnamon or dried fruit for variation.
