Description

Light, airy, and festive meringue cookies shaped like Christmas trees, perfect for holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 4 large egg whites
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Green food coloring
  • Confectioners’ sugar for dusting
  • Decorative sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a clean mixing bowl, beat the egg whites until foamy.
  3. Add the cream of tartar and continue to beat until soft peaks form.
  4. Gradually add the granulated sugar, one tablespoon at a time, beating until stiff peaks form.
  5. Mix in the vanilla extract and add a few drops of green food coloring to achieve your desired shade.
  6. Transfer the meringue mixture to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
  7. Pipe the meringue in the shape of Christmas trees onto the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 1.5 hours, then turn off the oven and let the meringues cool completely inside.
  9. Once cooled, dust with confectioners’ sugar and add sprinkles for decoration if desired.
