Description
A comforting one-pot chicken and rice Turkish recipe with tender chicken, fluffy rice, and bold spices cooked to perfection.
Ingredients
2 tbsp olive oil
1.5 lbs chicken thighs or drumsticks
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup long-grain rice, rinsed
2.5 cups chicken broth
1/2 tsp ground turmeric
1 tsp paprika
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 bay leaf
Fresh parsley, for garnish
1 tbsp butter (optional)
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil and sear chicken on both sides until golden. Remove and set aside.

2. Add onion and garlic to the pot and sauté until soft.
3. Stir in rinsed rice, turmeric, paprika, and mix to coat.
4. Return chicken to the pot. Add broth, bay leaf, salt, and pepper.
5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and cover. Simmer for 20–25 minutes.

6. Let rest 5 minutes before fluffing and serving with parsley.

Notes
Use chicken thighs for the juiciest result.
Add vegetables like peas or carrots for extra nutrition.
Can be frozen and reheated gently for future meals.
Pairs perfectly with Turkish yogurt dips or salads.
