Description

These brownies are a perfect sweet treat for Valentine’s Day, featuring a rich chocolate flavor and creamy frosting. They’re easy to make and can be customized for a festive touch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • Red food coloring (optional for festive color)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, melt the butter. Stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan.
  8. For the frosting, whisk together the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add red food coloring if desired.
  9. Spread the frosting over the cooled brownies and cut into squares.
  10. Serve and enjoy your festive Valentine’s Day brownies!

Notes
