- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1½ tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¾ cup white chocolate chips
- ½ cup crushed candy canes
Instructions
- Cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until fluffy, about 2 minutes.
- Mix in the egg and vanilla until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually mix into wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in white chocolate chips and crushed candy canes, then chill the dough for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Scoop dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake for 9–11 minutes until edges turn golden.
- Let cookies cool on the tray for 5 minutes then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For a stronger peppermint flavor, add ¼ teaspoon of peppermint extract. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or freeze for longer storage.
