Description

A rich chocolate cake in a heart shape, perfect for any occasion to show someone you care.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • Heart-shaped sprinkles or chocolate shavings for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a heart-shaped cake pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  4. Gradually stir in boiling water until the batter is smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Once cooled, decorate with heart-shaped sprinkles or chocolate shavings.
