Description

A fun and healthy breakfast option for toddlers, these Baby French Toast Sticks are easy to make and perfect for little hands.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices of whole grain bread
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup of milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon (optional)
  • A pinch of salt
  • Olive oil or butter for cooking

Instructions

  1. Cut the slices of bread into strips, about 1-inch wide.
  2. Whisk together the egg, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until smooth in a bowl.
  3. Heat a skillet on medium heat and add a little olive oil or butter.
  4. Dip each bread strip into the egg mixture, making sure both sides are coated.
  5. Place the coated strips in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Remove them from the skillet and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with fresh fruit, yogurt, or a drizzle of maple syrup. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days or freeze for up to a month.
