- 1 cup milk

Instructions
- Wash the peaches thoroughly and slice them into wedges, removing the pits.
- Mix the sliced peaches with 1/2 cup of sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon juice; set aside.
- Melt the unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
- Brown the butter by cooking it until it turns golden brown and develops a nutty aroma (about 5-7 minutes).
- Combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining 1/2 cup of sugar in a separate bowl.
- Add the milk and browned butter to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Layer the peach mixture into a greased baking dish.
- Add the batter by gently spooning it over the peaches without mixing.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
Notes
