Description

A beautiful Buttercream Flower Cake that is perfect for special occasions with colorful flower decorations.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Food coloring (for the flowers)
  • Buttercream frosting (for decorating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two round cake pans.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the flour and baking powder in another bowl. Gradually add this to the creamed mixture, alternating with milk. Mix until well combined.
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
  7. Spread buttercream frosting on top of one layer, then place the second layer on top. Frost the top and sides of the cake.
  8. Pipe small flowers using colored buttercream all over the cake.

Notes

Customize flower colors to fit any theme. Store leftovers in airtight container for 4-5 days.
