Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Gradually add this to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Start and end with the flour.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased cake pan.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Once cooled, frost with buttercream frosting.
