Description

A rich and nutty chocolate cake layered with caramel, pecans, and chocolate chips, perfect for special occasions.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Whisk together melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and buttermilk in another bowl.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan. Drizzle with half of the caramel sauce, then sprinkle with half of the pecans and chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the remaining batter on top, then repeat the caramel, pecan, and chocolate chip layers.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool before serving, and drizzle with additional caramel sauce on top.

Notes

For a richer treat, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or extra caramel on top.
