Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups peeled and chopped apples
- Oil for frying
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2–3 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- Combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and sugar in a large bowl.
- Whisk together milk and eggs in another bowl.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped apples.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil, frying until golden brown on both sides.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Mix powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth for the glaze.
- Drizzle the glaze over the warm fritters before serving.
Notes
For best taste, glaze when fritters are warm. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
