Description
A delicious, warm, and fluffy bread with a delightful swirl of cinnamon sugar, perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk, warmed
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- ½ cup brown sugar
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix warm milk, yeast, and one tablespoon of sugar. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it’s frothy.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, remaining sugar, and salt.
- Add the melted butter and eggs to the yeast mixture. Stir well.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the yeast mixture. Mix until combined to form a dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and roll it into a rectangle on a floured surface.
- Mix brown sugar and cinnamon together. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly from one short end to another, pinching the seams to seal.
- Place the rolled dough in a greased loaf pan. Cover and let it rise for another 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Serve warm with butter or a drizzle of icing for extra sweetness. Wrap tightly for storage.
