Description

A classic shrimp boil is a delicious and easy-to-serve meal that combines shrimp, sausage, and veggies in one pot.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb fresh shrimp
  • 2 medium potatoes, cut into chunks
  • 2 ears of corn, cut into thirds
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 4 quarts water
  • 1/4 cup Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt to taste
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, bring the water to a boil. Add Old Bay seasoning and salt.
  2. Add the potatoes and cook for about 10 minutes.
  3. Add the corn and sausage, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  4. Finally, add the shrimp and cook until they turn pink, about 3-5 minutes.
  5. Drain the pot and serve hot with lemon wedges.

Notes

Using fresh shrimp enhances the flavor. Adjust the level of Old Bay seasoning to suit your taste. Serve with crusty bread to soak up the broth.
