- 1 cup of unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon of milk

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour a large baking sheet or two 12×18 inch pans.
- Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla.
- Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add this to the creamed mixture, alternating with milk. Start and end with the flour mixture.
- Pour the cake batter into the prepared pan(s) and spread evenly.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool completely before frosting.
- Beat the softened butter with powdered sugar and milk until smooth and creamy. Divide into bowls and add food coloring as desired.
- Frost the cooled cake and decorate it according to your theme.
