Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two round cake pans.
  2. Cream the softened butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder in another bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Mix until smooth.
  6. Divide the batter evenly into the two prepared pans.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the cakes to cool completely.
