Description

Fun and delicious frog-shaped cakes perfect for birthdays and playful gatherings.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • Green and black food coloring
  • Whipped cream for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk.
  6. Divide the batter into two bowls. Add green food coloring to one bowl and black to the other.
  7. Pour the green batter into a greased cake pan.
  8. Bake for about 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let the cake cool.
  9. Once cooled, cut the cake into frog shapes.
  10. Use whipped cream to decorate as desired, adding eyes and smiles.

Notes

Serve with extra whipped cream on the side. You can also add fruit or sprinkles for extra color.
