- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Food coloring (green, pink, yellow for decoration)
- Buttercream frosting

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- Cream together the butter and sugar in a large bowl until fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Whisk together the flour and baking powder in another bowl. Gradually add this to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cool for 10 minutes in the pans, then turn out onto wire racks to cool completely.
- Once cooled, frost with buttercream and use food coloring to decorate with edible flowers and garden designs.
Notes
Make sure your butter is softened to room temperature for easy mixing. Experiment with food coloring for unique designs.
