Description

Hershey’s Red Velvet Blossoms are delightful cookies that combine the rich flavor of red velvet with chocolate kisses, perfect for celebrations and special treats.


Ingredients

  • 7 tbsp butter (salted or unsalted, softened)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1/4 tsp red food coloring gel
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup red sanding sugar
  • 18 Hershey chocolate kisses

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until smooth.
  3. Add in the egg yolk, vanilla extract, and red food coloring, mixing until combined.
  4. Gradually add the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt, mixing until the flour mixture disappears.
  5. Scoop out 18 equally sized cookie dough balls, roll them, and then roll them in the red sanding sugar.
  6. Place the cookie balls on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes.
  7. Press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie gently as soon as they come out of the oven.
  8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week, or freeze them for longer storage. Experiment with different chocolate kisses for variation.
