Description

Delightful hojicha cookies with a unique roasted flavor, perfect for sharing and easy to prepare.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup hojicha powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup white chocolate chunks

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Whisk together flour, hojicha powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy in another bowl.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix well.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
  6. Fold in the white chocolate chunks.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are slightly golden.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. They can be frozen if separated with parchment paper.
