Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- Cream the butter and sugar together in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the sour cream, lemon juice, lemon zest, and vanilla extract.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly between the two cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for about 10 minutes, then turn them out onto wire racks to cool completely.
