Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

  2. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl; set aside.
  3. Cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth in a separate bowl.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  5. Blend in the dry ingredients gradually. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool before frosting, if desired. Serve with a glass of milk.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature butter and eggs. You can add nuts for extra crunch.
